Two signals, not one.
Every assessment gives a Performance score (0 to 100) and a Verification level (A to E): how independently that score has been checked. Buyers see not just how you perform, but how much they can trust the number. Updated continuously, traceable to evidence.
One number tells you a company looks good. Two numbers tell you whether to believe it.

What makes our rating different
A score is only as good as its proof.
Most ratings give you one number and hope you don’t ask how it was checked. We publish a second axis — the Verification Level so a Gold at Verification Level A (audited) is never confused with a Gold at Verification Level D (self-declared).
Audited
Independently assured by an accredited, third-party assurance provider, to reasonable assurance.
Verified
Documentary evidence reviewed line-by-line by our analysts.
Reviewed
Self-reported data, sense-checked by an analyst.
Declared
Self-reported, not yet independently checked.
Estimated
Estimated or inferred where primary data is unavailable.
Every major ESG rating publishes one number. None of them shows, beside the score, how well that score is proven.
ESG Rated does. A Performance score and a Verification level, together on every scorecard, every badge, and every export. That is the difference between looking good and being believable.
Recognition that scales with performance
One score. One scale. Everywhere.
Your performance band is the same on your badge, your scorecard, and this page no surprises. Every company that completes a verified assessment earns Committed; performance medals stack on top.

Platinum
85 – 100
Best-in-class across every dimension the top tier of companies we assess.

Gold
70 – 84
Sector-leading performance with comprehensive disclosure and verified outcomes.

Silver
55 – 69
Strong, evidenced practices and measurable progress year over year.

Bronze
40 – 54
Solid fundamentals in place with active policies and early performance tracking.

Committed
Non-medal
score under 40, or a higher score that does not yet meet a medal requirement
Below 40, a company still earns Committed (for transparency) and receives a private improvement report but no public performance medal. Medals also require a minimum Verification level, so a top tier can’t be earned on unverified, self-declared data alone.

How your score is calculated
From evidence to score no black box.
Claims without proof don’t score. Outcomes and trajectory outweigh policies. Here’s the exact path every point follows.
01.
Evidence
You submit policies, certificates & KPIs against sector-relevant criteria.
02.
Expert review
An analyst verifies each item line-by-line and sets its Verification Level.
03.
Criterion points
Each of the 26 criteria scores across three layers: Intent (15%), Implementation (25%) and Performance (60%). Verification is reported separately as the A to E level and never adds or removes score points.
04.
Dimension scores
Criteria roll up into E / S / G / Value Chain sub-scores (0–100).
05.
Weighted overall
Dimensions are weighted by your sector’s materiality → final score & tier.
What goes into your score

We publish two signals: your Performance score and a Verification level (A to E) showing how verified it is.
You control it. Your scorecard is private until you publish it. Once public, anyone with your badge or link sees the live profile.
Your scorecard lists specific, prioritised improvement actions. Strengthening outcomes (not just adding policies) and raising your Verification level both lift your standing.
Ratings are continuously maintained and carry a “last verified” date. Evidence ages out over time, so keeping data current keeps your score live.
